In partnership with the Italian agricultural research institute CREA, Gianluigi identified local heritage wheat varieties San Carlo, Varano, and Mongibello to create the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eprimo grano\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003e or “first grain” pasta line. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eEvery year, Rustichella d’Abruzzo and a small group of farmers plant very few amounts of these heritage grains to make into shapes similar to the traditional cuts Gianluigi’s grandfather made.
